The Spare Tire Award
The mission of Flat Tire Theatre Company is to develop new works, reimagine familiar stories, and present eclectic yet relatable theatre about the necessity to keep moving forward no matter what. Flat Tire is looking for First-Year Fringe Participant shows that share in this mission for The “Spare Tire Award”. Flat Tire is also looking for shows that run on the collective power and energy of its ensemble to tell these stories of perseverance- whether it is through their art or the artists themselves. The “Spare Tire Award” is looking for 1st-year Fringe participants who are, just as they once were, starting their Fringe journey in hopes to assist them in continuing to create their art- and provide the “spare tire” on this adventure of creating art in LA and in the Hollywood Fringe Festival for years to come.

Have a story (Production or Artists) about the necessity to keep moving forward no matter what

Includes a diverse and Inclusive Cast & Crew in regards to race, ethnicity, gender, physically and intellectually disabled, D/deaf, and LGBTQ+

After much deliberation as a company, Flat Tire will not be producing a show for the 2021 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
We’re very grateful to have had the chance to produce two kick-ass virtual shows during quarantine, and now our company needs some time to recoup and plan what’s next!
Just because we won’t be performing doesn’t mean we won’t still be around, however! We are sponsoring the Spare Tire Award, and you’ll be seeing many of our company members faces out and about catching this year’s fabulous Fringe shows.
We’re also planning a fall fundraiser where we can get together with the community we’ve missed so dearly the past year and a half, so stay tuned for more details on that.
Our next live production will be this upcoming Spring, and we plan to be back and better than ever for Fringe 2022! Thank you for your continued support. We can’t wait to be sharing squeaky theatre seats with you again soon!
